Vilsack proposes new U.S. Forest Service planning rule

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack today released a new planning rule for the national forests. The proposed rule and draft environmental impact statement are subject to a 90-day public comment period that will end on May 16.
The U.S. Forest Service also announced an open forum to discuss the proposed rule on March 10 in Washington.
