The Farm Credit Administration, regulator of the farm credit system, today announced the appointment of Thais Mootz as director of equal employment opportunity and inclusion.
“For the past year or more, we have been looking at ways to strengthen diversity and inclusion not only at FCA but also in the financial institutions we regulate,” said Leland A. Strom, FCA chairman and CEO. “By hiring a full-time director of EEO and inclusion, we are taking a big step toward achieving this goal.”
The timing of the new directors arrival is also advantageous for meeting new government-wide requirements related to diversity, Strom added, noting that an executive order issued last month calls on federal agencies to have “a more comprehensive, integrated, and strategic focus on diversity and inclusion as a key component of their human resources strategies.”
Mootz most recently served as executive manager in the Office of EEO and Inclusiveness at the U.S. Postal Service.
From 2001 to 2008, Mootz held several positions at the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, including attorney adviser to chair Naomi Churchill-Earp and acting chief for the Intake and Compliance Branch.
