House farm bill final vote planned for today

The House has begun debate on the sugar amendment to the farm bill and is expected to stop that 20-minute debate shortly to vote on the amendments that were debated on Thursday, knowledgeable Hill aides have told The Hagstrom Report.

When those votes are completed, the House will proceed to debate on the amendments on the dairy program, payment limits and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.

At around 12:30 p.m., votes on those amendments and final passage of the bill are expected to begin.

“If all stays on track, it looks like we'll be able to wrap up today,” a key House aide told The Hagstrom Report.

House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., has sent House members a message that they can expect to “walk off the Floor: 2:00-2:30 p.m.”
