Senate Finance hires Alben

The Senate Finance Committee has hired Elissa Alben as international trade counsel for issues including the Trans-Pacific Partnership negotiations and the World Trade Organization, Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont., announced Monday.

Alben joins the committee from the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, where she served as deputy assistant for monitoring and enforcement and associate general counsel.

She previously served as a trade fellow for the House of Representatives Committee on Ways and Means and has private sector experience.

Alben is a graduate of Harvard University and Columbia Law School.
