Christy Seyfert, a senior professional staffer on the Senate Agriculture Committee, has left to join Michael Torrey Associates, a government relations and association management firm, Torrey announced Monday.

Seyfert has specialized in legislative and regulatory programs involving commodity programs, crop insurance and disaster assistance. A Brooklet, Ga., native, Seyfert was raised on her family’s sixth-generation farm, holds a degree in food science from the University of Georgia and worked for six years on the House Agriculture Committee before spending six years working for the Senate Agriculture Committee.

Her husband, Mike Seyfert, has been legislative director in the personal office of Senate Agriculture ranking member Pat Roberts, R-Kansas, and Roberts recently named him minority staff director of the Agriculture committee.
