The Coalition for Sugar Reform, a group funded by industrial sweetener users, released a study today that claims that the complete elimination of the U.S. sugar program and the elimination of all tariffs and restrictions on sugar imports would save American consumers up to $3.5 billion per year.
The study was conducted by Jon Beghin and Amani Elobeid, who are Iowa State University researchers.
