House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., said Monday that House leaders are considering a short-term farm bill, perhaps for six months, but did not provide any details of how it might be considered, the Washington Times reported.

McCarthy made the statement in the context of discussing the continuing resolution to fund the government through the first quarter of 2013.
