The International Food and Agricultural Trade Policy Council has named Ellen Terpstra as president and CEO.
Terpstra served as deputy undersecretary for farm and foreign agricultural services and administrator of the Foreign Agricultural Service during the George W. Bush administration and since has been a consultant on agricultural international trade and development issues.
Earlier she worked for the USA Rice Federation and the U.S. Apple Association, and served as an agricultural trade policy adviser in the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative and was a congressional aide.
Terpstra replaces Charlotte Hebebrand, who left IPC in July to head the International Fertilizer Association.
