The House Agriculture Committee today held its organizational session for the 113th Congress.
During opening remarks, House Agriculture Committee Chairman Frank Lucas, R-Okla., pledged to work with House Agriculture ranking member Collin Peterson, D-Minn., to finish the farm bill that Congress did not finish in the 112th Congress.
The committee approved rules to maintain the enhanced transparency and accountability standards that were used in the last Congress under House Republican leadership. This includes posting the text of bills online for the public no less than 24 hours before a business meeting and providing both live and archived webcasts of all hearings and business meetings.
