Baucus names Campbell general counsel

Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont., announced Thursday that he has hired Mac Campbell as general counsel and senior adviser for the committee.

Campbell is currently assistant trade representative for congressional affairs.

Before joining USTR, he served for three years as legislative director for Sen. Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., who has been a member of the committee since 2007, handling her Finance Committee work.

From 1999 to 2005, he served as tax counsel and legislative assistant to then-Sen. Blanche Lincoln, D-Ark., who was a committee member from 2001 until 2010.

Campbell earned a bachelor of science in accountancy / economics and a law degree from the University of Arkansas and an master of laws degree in taxation from Georgetown University Law School.
