Vilsack appoints Hunter, McCoy and Wheelock

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack announced the following Agriculture Department staff appointments today:
Hunter previously served as the CEO of Vulcan Enterprises, an information technology and strategic planning consulting organization. Before that she served more than 10 years with Lotus Development Corporation.
She earned a bachelor of arts degree from Villanova University and a master of business administration in marketing from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business.
McCoy most recently was the staff director for the House Financial Services Housing and Insurance Subcommittee, preparing hearings for the Federal Housing Administration, the Federal Housing Finance Agency and other agencies.
He also served for nine years as counsel and policy advisor on the staff of the House Financial Services Committee led by Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass.
He earned a bachelor of arts degree in history from Wesleyan University and a law degree from Georgetown University.
Wheelock previously served as the director of economic policy at the National Congress of American Indians, where she oversaw efforts in a variety of economic development policy areas. She also worked as rights and permissions manager and as strategic planning consultant on cultural and intellectual property for the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian.
She is a member of the Oneida Tribe of Wisconsin and serves on the board of directors of the Oneida Total Integrated Enterprises as well as the national council and board of directors of the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian in Washington and New York.
She is the founder of the Georgetown Farmers Market and is active with the D.C. Farmers Market Collaborative.
Wheelock was born and raised in Indiana, and her extended family resides on the Oneida Nation Reservation in Oneida, Wisc. She earned a master of business administration degree and a law degree from Cornell, and is a member of the bars in New York, Connecticut and the District of Columbia.
