The G-8 countries today released their action plans for more widespread release of government data on agriculture, Agriculture Undersecretary for Research, Education and Economics Catherine Woteki said today in a call to reporters from the G-8 conference on open data being held at the World Bank.
The United States alone has placed 350 data sets on the website it has set up.
The sharing of information should make it easier for governments to anticipate climate change and deal with it, Woteki said.
