House Rules meeting tonight on farm bill
July 10, 2013 | 08:26 PM
In a sign that the House Republican leadership has whipped together enough votes to pass a farm program-only farm bill, the House Rules Committee will meet at 9 p.m. on the bill so that the House can consider it on Thursday.
The bill, H.R. 2642, is the committee-passed bill as amended on the floor without the nutrition title, but it would also repeal the 1938 and 1949 permanent law provisions and make the 2013 Title I permanent law going forward.
