House Appropriations Committee Chairman Hal Rogers, R-Ky., has told his constituents that they will continue to get food stamps, according to the Somerset, Ky. Commonwealth Journal.
The statement would appear to put Rogers in conflict with House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va., who has proposed large-scale cuts to the program.
