Famed chefs and independent seed breeders met this week to discuss the possibility of breeding seeds to improve the tastiness of food, The New York Times has reported.
The Monday meeting was organized by Dan Barber, chef at the Blue Hill restaurants patronized by First Lady Michelle Obama.
Stephen Jones, a wheat breeder from Washington State University told the group, “There’s no forcing here. We put these plants together and we let them mate.”
