The Humane Society has started a $100,000 online advertising campaign against the amendment in the farm bill that would make it illegal for a state to ban the sale of a food produced in another state because the receiving state objects to the production methods, The Hill reported today.

The amendment was sponsored by Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, in reaction to a California law that bans the sale of eggs that are produced from hens in cages smaller than those expected to be used in California.
