Vilsack releases farm bill implementation report

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack today released to the House Agriculture Committee a list of what the USDA has done so far on implementing the 2014 farm bill. The report includes some upcoming deadlines.

“We are making tremendous progress implementing the new farm bill,” Vilsack noted in an accompanying statement.

This law is critically important to America’s farmers and ranchers and to our nation’s economy. Every USDA agency is working diligently to implement the farm bill’s new provisions quickly and effectively.”

The bill has 12 titles and 450 provisions covering food, farm, conservation, trade, research, energy policies and more, USDA noted in a release.
