The Senate Agriculture Jobs, Rural Economic Growth and Energy Innovation Subcommittee will hold a hearing Thursday titled “The Importance of Regional Strategies in Rural Economic Development,” Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, D-N.D., the chairman of the subcommittee, has announced.

The hearing will be held in Room 328-A of the Russell Senate Office Building at 10 a.m.

The subcommittee will hear from Deputy Undersecretary for Rural Development Doug O’Brien and Chuck Fluharty, president and CEO of the Rural Policy Research Institute in Columbia, Mo., as well as local economic development officials.
