Pervasive ‘carelessweed’ invades biotech fields

Amaranthus palmeri, or carelessweed
Palmer amaranth, a weed with a glyphosate-resisting genetic mutation, is spreading, The New York Times reported today.
Farmers have gone so far as to use manual labor to pull up what is also known as “carelessweed,” but the Environmental Protection Agency is set to approve genetically modified seeds that tolerate other weed killers.
