The National Association of State Departments of Agriculture submitted comments to the Environmental Protection Agency Friday that EPA’s proposed updating of the Agricultural Worker Protection Standard regulation would “miss the mark by placing unnecessary burdens on state regulatory agencies and the regulated community, without providing additional appreciable protections for workers.”
NASDA, which assembled a team of officials from more than 30 state departments of agriculture, said it is “concerned” that EPA has made assumptions “regarding worker exposures and chronic illnesses without supporting scientific evidence.”
