Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack will unveil the rules for the Price Loss Coverage and Agricultural Risk Coverage on Thursday, The Hagstrom Report has learned.

The PLC and ARC programs are the core of the commodity title of the 2014 farm bill. Crop farmers will need to make a choice between the two programs, and contracts have been let to universities to develop tools to help farmers in their decisions.

The announcements will be made at an event in Minnesota and on a national call to reporters.
