The Humane Society of the United States announced Tuesday that it had established an Oklahoma agriculture council, its eighth.

“Comprised of Oklahoma farmers, this new council will provide advice and guidance to The HSUS, assist other family farmers with marketing opportunities for humane and sustainable products, and help fellow farmers transition to practices that adhere to higher animal welfare standards,” HSUS said in a news release.

The other HSUS agriculture councils are located in Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina and Ohio.
