Peterson announces 19 Democratic members on House Ag

House Agriculture Committee ranking member Collin Peterson, D-Minn., announced today that 19 Democrats will serve on the House Agriculture Committee in the 114th Congress, two fewer than in the 113th.

The Republicans have appointed 25 members to the committee, the same as in the last Congress.

The House Agriculture Committee will hold its organizational meeting on Thursday.

The Democratic members in order of rank are:

  • Collin Peterson, Minnesota (ranking)
  • David Scott, Georgia
  • Jim Costa, California
  • Tim Walz, Minnesota
  • Marcia Fudge, Ohio
  • Jim McGovern, Massachusetts
  • Suzan DelBene, Washington
  • Filemon Vela, Texas
  • Michelle Lujan Grisham, New Mexico
  • Ann Kuster, New Hampshire
  • Rick Nolan, Minnesota
  • Cheri Bustos, Illinois
  • Sean Patrick Maloney, New York
  • Ann Kirkpatrick, Arizona
  • Pete Aguilar, California
  • Stacey Plaskett, Virgin Islands
  • Alma Adams, North Carolina
  • Gwen Graham, Florida
  • Brad Ashford, Nebraska

The list reveals that four Democrats who served on the committee in the last Congress and are still in office are not returning to the committee:

  • Kurt Schrader, Oregon
  • Juan Vargas, California
  • Joe Courtney, Connecticut
  • John Garamendi, California
