Obama to speak at White House tribal nations conference

President Barack Obama will deliver remarks Thursday at a White House-hosted tribal nations conference and take part in a conversation with native youth, the White House announced over the weekend.
USDA also announced that Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack will participate in a Cabinet town hall meeting during the all-day conference, which will be held at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center.
“The conference will provide leaders from the 567 federally recognized tribes the opportunity to interact directly with high-level federal government officials and members of the White House Council on Native American Affairs,” the White House said in a media advisory.
Each federally recognized tribe will be invited to send one representative to the conference, which is the seventh held by the Obama administration, the White House added.
