Peterson: Payroll tax relief bill should include farm bill

ALERT

House Agriculture Committee ranking member Collin Peterson, D-Minn., said today that Congress should consider attaching the farm bill developed for the supercommittee to the bill to extend payroll tax relief and deal with other federal financial obligations.

Peterson told the Farm Journal Forum said the measure would provide $23 billion in offsets and encourage the 46 House Agriculture Committee members to vote for the overall bill.
